“Postpartum doulas have the special role of mothering the new mother after the birth of her baby, whereas Birth Doulas assist women throughout pregnancy and childbirth.”
Postpartum doulas bring expertise in infant care and development, as well as in supporting recovery and adjustment following birth. They provide non-judgmental guidance on newborn care and feeding, assist with physical and emotional recovery, and offer care for the baby, allowing parents the time and space to focus on their own well-being. Additionally, postpartum doulas offer practical household assistance to ease the transition into parenthood. Our goal is to empower you during the postpartum period by supporting your daily needs, offering guidance on infant care, and helping you navigate this important time with confidence and reassurance.
Postpartum doulas do not provide medical services or treatments for either parent or baby, nor do we handle heavy housekeeping tasks. Instead, our role is to offer emotional, physical, and informational support tailored to your unique needs. We respect and support the parenting style you choose, whether that involves specific approaches to newborn care, feeding, or self-care.
