These moments of strength and self realization are empowering to the birthing person, which is a huge reason why Meghan loves this work, and is dedicated to this practice.

Karli Peters
I began my birth doula journey before the arrival of my first son many years ago. My heart has felt called upon this path after years of infertility and onward to motherhood; to be able to support, advocate, listen to and educate birthing persons and families on their own journeys. There are no words to encompass all a birthing person goes through as their little one is being born earth-side. I cherish each and every one of the families I work with and am honored to be a part of their story.

I am a mother of three beautiful young adult children who bring me great joy! I believe that raising the next generating is one of the most important jobs we have the privilege of being a part of. I am a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a wife and mom of 2 ever-growing boys.
I believe our birth experiences matter, and each one is unique. My goal is to bring a calm, nurturing energy to your space and support and empower you in your birth and journey into parenthood.
As a postpartum doula I am there to allow families the time to rest, heal, nourish their bodies and adjust to life with their newest family member.
It would be a privilege to support you in this beautiful, yet sometimes challenging time.
Shea Pacaud (Accepting birth clients in Calgary)
My first experience with birth was at a very young age; my sister was born in our home when I was 9 and I remember watching the midwife and thinking wow, I want to do this when I grow up. As an adult––after graduating from college––I found my way back to birth work and I now work as a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and massage therapist (with a focus in prenatal and postpartum massage). Informed decision making, unbiased support and an evidence based approach are important to me and play a big role in the way I support the families I work with. I am passionate about assisting families through this chapter of their lives with open arms and the belief that they have the power to have the birth experience they want.
Birth Doula. Postpartum Doula. Childbirth Educator. RMT.
Patricia Paré
Hi! I'm Patricia and I specialize in overnight care. Having 3 kids of my own, I know how important sleep is to both baby and parents. I have always found myself drawn to new parents in wanting to help in any way I can, so finding my path into Postpartum Doula care was just meant to be.
Part of my job as an overnight doula, is to help parents stay in bed to help increase your quality of sleep. I will take care of your baby when s/he is awake and bring your baby to you if you prefer to nurse overnight or I will bottle feed your baby with formula or breastmilk, wherever your journey takes you. I am happy to support your breastfeeding and/or bottle-feeding choices. Having an overnight doula takes a weight off your shoulders that I will happily carry for you.
Melissa Saunders
My passions in life have always included children. From being a babysitter since before I could babysit, to being a nanny, to being a mom and opening a home-based daycare, I have always enjoyed being involved with children. After opening and running a pharmacy with my husband for over 13 years, I was made aware of how many families, particularly mothers, struggle in the first few months of growing their families. It is an overwhelming time and often, I feel that is overlooked and not openly spoken about. That’s when I knew becoming a postpartum doula was the perfect role for me. I became passionate about spreading the knowledge about how important it is to have support during those times, and feel it is a very rewarding and meaningful career.
Brittany Falk
Hi, I’m Brittany, I’m both a Birth and Postpartum doula. Being a doula is something I am absolutely passionate about. All things pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond fascinate me and I am forever amazed by the strength of women! Since becoming a mother of triplets, followed very quickly by a 4th child, I knew my soul-work was here, as a doula. Being able to support, encourage, and empower others through this whole journey is where my heart is.
I believe that each birth experience matters, and each is unique. My goal as a member of your birthing team is to guide you with evidence based knowledge, while assisting you in making your experience your own.
I would be honoured to be a member of your birthing and/or postpartum team, supporting and encouraging you to make your prenatal, birth, and postpartum story your very own.

Ila Rhodey
Hi, my name is Ila. For as long as I can remember; I have had a great love for all things ‘baby’. As soon as I was old enough, I took my babysitting course and started looking after babies. I spent my summers helping a few mothers through the fourth trimester. I graduated high school and became a nanny until I married, and we started our own family. Once our children were in school, I again helped several mothers when I could.
My passion has lead to my career specializing in nights!
The knowledge and expertise I have gained due to my work experience; gives me much to offer a family as they enter this challenging stage of life. I feel I have an innate ability to cope with the varied challenges presented by newborns.. I also have an affinity for new mothers facing the challenges this stage in their life can bring.
I look forward to continuing to do what I love most…Supporting You and your Baby!
Beth McLaren
Hello and welcome here. My name is Beth, and I am grateful you took the time to visit Birth Roots and read about me. I am a nanny, postpartum doula and a true caregiver at heart.
Throughout my life, I have had the honor of supporting friends and families through the intense and deeply life changing transition of bringing a little one into the world. It is through these experiences that I have seen firsthand how essential support and care from community is for our newborns, parents and families alike.
It is incredibly significant to me to provide a safe, reliable environment for families to rest, heal and bond together. It is during these important seasons of rest that I provide grounded, all-encompassing, nurturing care to them and their precious new additions. I believe in community care for children and their families. I would be honored to be a part of yours.
