information, support and resources. LLLC also provides breastfeeding

Midwives believe pregnancy and
childbirth are normal and healthy states for most women. We recognize
that pregnancy and birth affect a women and her family deeply and in
many different ways, and we take the time to get to know you through the
course of the thorough pre-natal care we provide. A recent law makes
midwives independent and regulated care providers available to Manitoba
women for home and hospital births. Midwives’ services are covered by
Manitoba Health.

The three acute care sites of the Women’s Health Program (Health
Sciences Centre, Victoria General Hospital, St. Boniface General)
provide care to pregnant women and families through labour, delivery,
postpartum. We also offer a variety of services related to women’s
health and newborn care.

Youville Centre is a Community Health Resource Centre with sites in
St Boniface and St Vital. We offer traditional prenatal classes in
French and English, a Young Expectations class for pregnant adolescents
and young adults and individual counselling for those coping with the
life changes a new baby brings.
