Tracy & her two breastfed daughters |
A
wife and mother of two, Tracy Shibou-Savoie has been a
breastfeeding counsellor since 2002. After completing a Bachelor
of Science and working in a research laboratory, she began her
journey that led to breastfeeding education when she became
pregnant with her first child in 1997. Tracy and her daughters
experienced numerous challenges with breastfeeding and overcame
them; they ultimately had such a positive experience that she
felt motivated to share her knowledge with other mothers. After
completing extensive training, Tracy became a La Leche League
Leader and she has led breastfeeding groups as well as
individually counselled women about breastfeeding for numerous
years. An extension of Tracy’s experience has led to her to work
as a prenatal educator, a labour and postpartum doula. Clients
say that Tracy easily shares her knowledge with all family
members and that she is sensitive and supportive to each
individual’s needs. She has a natural way of making people feel
comfortable in sometimes awkward situations.
